Go to howtobrew.com & read up the entire site. That's how I started and that's what I think you should do. Don't worry if you can't understand it all. Don't worry about the ingredients or the equipment. Just read it. You will learn a lot and even if you get 30% of the content in your head, you will have made a start. The content is written by a great homebrewer - John Palmer - who has made it available to us for free. If it weren't for his site, I would have never started brewing. Thanks to him.
While reading John Palmer's site, you may want to catch up on two podcasting sites: The Brewing Network & Basic Brewing Radio. Justin, Doc, JP, Jamil - The Jamil Show & others from The Brewing Network are a blast and James from Basic Brewing Radio makes things very simple. I love these podcasts and I am sure you will too.
